civil darkness

A few more days on the Pacific rim.....

Rock shows in Nagoya and Tokyo were pretty solid. The crowds tended to be deafeningly silent. Everyone is just so damn polite.

Even the coffee cups are pleasant, and rarely have a bad word to say about anyone.

But Shibuya on a Saturday night is a playground for drunks and deviants of all kinds.

It is also home to the flagship Tokyu Hands shopping center. Over the years I have spent more time and money in that store than could possibly be believed. This particular trip was no exception.

Yakiniku. The gentle art of forcing 18 pounds of lightly seared beef into your face and washing it down with four pints of Asahi. Not unlike yoga.

Onward, and upward. Get in the van.
