Doing, largely without thinking

Cursed rain is falling again.  I had nearly a week of unseasonably warm winter weather. The sun has been shining overtime here. I've been biking all over town. As you do...

I usually cut through the park and ride out to Ocean Beach following the Great Highway along the coastline. It is an amazing and rarely traveled route during the week.

Last week the waves were swelling on Ocean Beach. I sat and watched the surfers for a while.

It is pretty miserable in other parts of the country/world right now, so I can't really complain, except that it really is cold now, and I can look back fondly on a few days ago and be thankful that I'm not in NY or Chicago battling frostbite and winter malaise.

Really?

I rode all the way out to the zoo the other day, which, oddly enough in the midst of impending law suits and impending animal attacks, was pretty deserted. There was a big memorial, more to tiger than man. There were scattered memorials around the city as well, some of a certain sentiment, others not so much.

I, for some reason presumably other than boredom, decided to invest in the stock market for the first time in my life. Well shitfire if the stock market hasn't taken a nosedive into broke oblivion. So it goes. At least now I can have other people pay for dinner and drinks because I'm really getting hung out to dry on this or that single share of stock that I bought. Or at least that's what I like to say.
