Thought of the day.
I walked on to the bus today to be confronted by this question:
'Is it illegal to kill a dolphin with a hammer?'
Followed shortly by:
'What if it's in international waters and the shark is, like, a robot shark?'
I am definitely on tour. There is no denying it. Nowhere other than a bus full of dudes would you hear this type of discussion. Today we are in Rochester, NY, one of the most dismal places on Earth, I think. It's already pretty cold in the Northeast and all of my winter coats are packed away in a box in California, which seems so far away now. It's amazing how quickly my excitement, happiness and general well-being has melted away. I've been on a bus for 3 nights. I've slept maybe two hours each night. I have showered once. I have changed my clothes once. I have been outdoors for maybe 45 minutes. I can't find the book that I brought along to read, and probably wouldn't have time to read it if I could find it. The impeccable order that my life has fallen into over the last 2 months seems to have been undone. I know that it will all work out in the end. It's just pretty beat right now.
On the positive side of things, a package arrived at the theatre today containing 24 yellow boiler suits with red energy helmets. It would appear that we are all going to be DEVO for Halloween.
